One-time event
A single date and time sent to registered or approved attendees — a launch, a filing deadline, an open house.
A calendar invitation is more than an email about an Event. It carries the Event details into the calendar an attendee already uses, with an RSVP response that can come back to you.
Free uses a connected Google or Microsoft calendar. Business custom domains require verification.
What the attendee does
Nothing to installReceives the invite
It arrives as a calendar invitation, not a newsletter.
Calendar handles placement
Placement depends on the attendee's provider and calendar settings.
Responds
Accepted, Tentative or Declined can return to the Event record where supported.
Receives supported updates
Provider-supported changes can update or cancel the Event.
Bloomod prepares calendar invitations for major providers. Placement, response reporting and update behaviour still depend on each attendee's calendar client and provider settings.
| Provider | Invite delivery | Calendar placement | RSVP reporting | Updates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Calendar | Provider-managed | Settings-dependent | Client-dependent | Client-dependent |
| Outlook | Provider-managed | Settings-dependent | Client-dependent | Client-dependent |
| Microsoft 365 | Provider-managed | Settings-dependent | Client-dependent | Client-dependent |
| Apple Calendar | Provider-managed | Settings-dependent | Client-dependent | Client-dependent |
Behaviour depends on the attendee's client and provider settings. Some clients report RSVP state partially or not at all. Delivery does not guarantee inbox placement or calendar acceptance.
