Anti-spam policy
An unwanted calendar invitation takes something an unwanted email does not: a block of someone's day. This policy exists because that raises the bar on consent.
Last updated 9 August 2026 · Version 1.1
1. Consent required
You may only invite people who have given consent appropriate to receiving calendar invitations from your business. Consent to receive a newsletter is not consent to have time blocked on a calendar, and a purchased or scraped list is never an acceptable basis.
Acceptable bases include:
- The recipient registered for the event or series
- The recipient is a client or member with an existing relationship covering scheduled sessions
- The recipient submitted a capture form that stated they would receive invitations
- The recipient asked to be invited, in writing
2. Evidencing consent
Bloomod records the applicable registration or consent state with the attendee record. You must be able to show how and when the attendee agreed to receive the invitation. We may ask for that evidence when reviewing an Event send or investigating a complaint.
3. Prohibited practices
You must not:
- Import purchased, rented, scraped or appended lists
- Send invitations to addresses harvested from directories, social profiles or websites
- Invite recipients to events unrelated to the relationship or interest they consented to
- Use a misleading organiser name, subject or event description
- Disguise a promotion as a meeting the recipient has agreed to attend
- Create recurring series as a way to occupy a recipient's calendar indefinitely
- Re-invite a recipient who declined the same series repeatedly
- Re-import a record after suppression or unsubscribe
- Split one attendee list across accounts to work around sending limits
4. Withdrawal of consent
Every recipient may withdraw consent. Declining a single invitation is not withdrawal — declining is a normal RSVP. Withdrawal is an explicit request to stop receiving invitations, and it must be honoured promptly and permanently.
5. Suppression
Suppression is applied across future Event invitation sends on your account, and it survives deletion of the underlying attendee record. This is deliberate: if suppression were forgotten along with the record, deleting and re-importing would silently undo it.
6. Review
We may hold an Event invitation send for review before it enters the queue. Review is more likely for a new account, a first large Event, a sudden change in attendee volume, or an imported list with an unusually high proportion of unknown records. Review is not a judgement about your business; it is how a platform avoids becoming a nuisance.
7. Enforcement
Where this policy is breached we may, proportionately:
- Hold or cancel a specific Event invitation send
- Reduce your sending limits
- Require re-verification or documented consent before further sending
- Suspend sending on the account
- Terminate the account for serious or repeated breach
Where practical we will tell you what we found and give you an opportunity to correct it.
8. Reporting a problem
If you received an invitation you did not consent to, write to hello@bloomod.com with the organiser name and the event date. We will suppress your address from that sender and investigate.
